eaglesNiantic Baptist Church Purpose Statement

The purpose of this congregation is to give visible form to that faith and fellowship to which God has called His people. We are a church in which and through which Jesus Christ continues to minister to the world by His Holy Spirit. We will strive to fulfill this calling through: the study of Scripture, worship services, programs that encourage Christian growth through education, prayer, fellowship, proclamation of the Gospel, and ministering to those in need in the name of Christ (from Article II of our Bylaws).

Denominational Affiliation

Recognizing Jesus Christ as the only Head of the church, this congregation shall seek to ascertain and to obey the will of our Lord in all matters of faith and practice. Authority to reach decisions for governing the affairs of this church is given to us by Christ. Such authority and responsibility is vested in the active membership of the congregation.

In carrying out the wider ministry for which Christ has made His church responsible, we shall adhere to, and be a member of, the Stonington Union/New London (SUNL) Baptist Association, the American Baptist Churches of Connecticut, and the American Baptist Churches, U.S.A.

This church shall also cooperate with the larger Christian fellowship through other councils of churches. (from Article III of our Bylaws)

The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive at NBC on Monday, March 16, from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m.  Giving blood is a simple sacrifice, and one well worth making.  Each donated pint of blood can save as many as 3 lives.  Blood is used for numerous reasons and for people of all ages: premature babies... organ transplants... cancer patients... burn victims... heart patients... car accident victims... the list goes on.  If you are 17 or older, weigh 110 pounds or more, and are in generally good health, please consider making a donation.  It only takes an hour, and it may be one of the most important hours you will even spend on behalf of others.  You may make an appointment by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-773-2767) or by going online at
